The American Institute of Aeronautics and Astronautics National Capital Section has selected Associate Professor Derek Paley (AE/ISR) as its 2015 Engineer of the Year. Paley was honored ?for pioneering research that applies methods from engineering and biology to study collective behavior in robotic and natural systems, and for dedication to teaching and mentoring students.?

Paley will receive the award at the AIAA-NCS Honors and Awards Banquet on May 20 in Arlington, Va.
