Aerospace Engineering students excelled at the American Institute of Aeronautics and Astronautics (AIAA) Region I Young Professional, Student, and Education (YPSE) Conference 2014. Students placed across four categories, winning for both best student presentations and papers.

The winning Aerospace Engineering students for best presentations and papers were:

Best Student Presentations in Space Automation and Robotics

  • Kate McBryan (Advisor: Dr. David Akin)
  • Adam Halperin (Advisor: Dr. Raymond Sedwick)

Best Student Presentation in Space Operations

  • Nicholas Limparis (Advisor: Dr. David Akin)

Undergraduate Best Paper Awards

  • 2nd place Luke Smith (Advisors: Dr. Anya Jones)
    The Effect of Reynolds Number on Reverse Flow over Sharp and Blunt Trailing Edge Airfoils
  • 3rd place Maria Pascale (Advisors: Dr. Alison Flatau)
    Magnetrostrictive Properties of FeGa Nanowires
  • Honorable Mention Joseph Cozzo (Advisors: Dr. Alison Flatau, Dr. Jung Jin Park)
