The Aerospace Engineering Department was recently ranked 8th overall among

US universities, and 5th among publics for its outstanding and first rate graduate research programs. The department moved up 3 spots from 11th last year. This improvement in the ranking is strongly supported by the fact that the department has won four major large research grants:

"This is a significant recognition of the research conducted by our

outstanding faculty and graduate students"

says Darryll Pines, professor and chair of the AE department.
