Two faculty members of the University of Maryland's A. James Clark School of Engineering have been named to the 2018 Highly Cited Researchers list by Clarivate Analytics.

Highly Cited Researchers are selected for their exceptional research performance, determined by production of multiple highly cited papers that rank in the top 1% by citations for field and year in Web of Science.

They are:

Liangbing Hu, Associate Professor
Department of Materials Science & Engineering
Maryland Energy Innovation Institute
Center for Advanced Renewable Biomaterials

Dr. Hu’s research interests include nanomaterials and nanostructures, energy storage, energy conversion, printed electronics, and wearable devices.

Chunsheng Wang, Professor and Robert Franklin & Frances Riggs Wright Distinguished Chair
Departments of Chemical & Biomolecular Engineering and Materials Science & Engineering
Maryland Energy Innovation Institute
Center for Research in Extreme Batteries

Dr. Wang’s research interests include lithium-ion batteries, electric energy storage, fuel cells, electroanalytical technologies, and nanostructured materials.

These researchers have distinguished themselves through publication of multiple highly cited papers during the last decade, according to Clarivate Analytics. Such consistent production of highly cited reports indicates that the work of these researchers has been repeatedly judged by their peers to be of notable significance and utility.

The Highly Cited Researchers list is one of several criteria used by the Center for World-Class Universities at Shanghai Jiao Tong University to determine the Academic Ranking of World Universities.
